MCR Social is a new programme supporting 14-18 year old disabled and neurodivergent young people to access the fun social life of Manchester.

We arrange social activities such as cinema clubs, sports clubs, gaming clubs and more for the young people part of this programme.

We also arrange a volunteer to support the young person to travel to and from the activities.

This programme is for young people living in Manchester, and all activities happen here in the city.

We hope to support disabled and neurodivergent young people to access all that Manchester has to offer, while meeting new people and making connections too.

One of the young people that has attended one of our sessions, Manahil, spoke about the shopping trip he went on. Manahil said: “I would like to do this more often! It builds my skills in talking and I feel more confident.

Another young person, Imran, spoke about the games that they were able to play whilst out and about: “So nice! The VR is so nice! I liked the game, I enjoyed it!”

Another young person did a session of indoor skydiving, they said: “I like it, to get out of the chair, to fly, what it felt like to feel free! I like I can get out and someone helps me.”
