Weightmans have chosen Greater Manchester Youth Network to be its Charity of the Year

We’re so proud to announce that we have been chosen as Weightmans’ Charity of the Year for its Manchester office.

Weightmans is one of the UK’s most respected and award-winning law firms, with over 1,500 people across the country, including Manchester Spinningfields. 

Weightmans has already supported us with several fundraising events. In May, six staff members participated in the Great Manchester Run, raising a fantastic £721.80.

Last month, a team from Weightmans competed in our 5-a-side football tournament, the GMYN Westwood Cup.

Konrad Bialozynski, a solicitor at Weightmans, also took part in a white-collar boxing event. Konrad raised an amazing £315.

Later this month, a team of nine people from the firm will also be tackling the 40km Edale Skyline challenge while raising money for GMYN.

Carole Spiller, partner and head of Weightmans’ Manchester office, says: “Weightmans is committed to social mobility and seeing the possibility in all young people to achieve their potential and career ambitions. That is why GMYN was an obvious choice for our office charity this year. We are delighted to be contributing to its work in supporting young people across the Greater Manchester region.”

“The partnership represents a significant opportunity to expand our provision for young people in Greater Manchester and improve social mobility. So far, we’ve been blown away by Weightmans’ commitment and enthusiasm – the team has already supported a number of our fundraising initiatives since partnering in April – and we’re looking forward to achieving even more amazing things together over the coming year.”
