GMYN announces huge line up of summer activities for disabled and neurodivergent young people

At GMYN we have a summer packed full of activities for disabled and neurodivergent young people as part of the SEND Community Offer in Manchester.
Our MCR Social programme supports young people from Manchester aged 14-17 years old to do activities and have experiences they never thought they would get the chance to while making new friends. By taking part in our MCR Social sessions young people can also improve their well-being, increase in confidence, and develop new skills.
With regular groups and one-off events, this summer’s activities have been chosen by young people, for young people, and there is something for everyone!

Activities include:
- Bowling
- Football
- Basketball
- Art Sessions
- Craft Club
- Museum Visits
- Movie Nights
- Video Game Sessions
- Nature Workshops
- Beauty Sessions
- Music & Theatre
There are also regular clubs including football, basketball and skateboarding, and individual travel training support available to build young people’s independence and enable them to access the sessions.
One young person who came along to the MCR Social summer sessions last year, said: “I find the sessions very inclusive; it makes me feel very safe.”

To get registered, a supporting adult, such as a parent, carer or social worker, needs to fill in this online form. We will then be in touch to go through the opportunities and share the full calendar of activities to sign up for. Siblings who are 14-17 but don’t identify as disabled or neurodivergent can join in too.
For any further questions and to find out more contact Trystan at Greater Manchester Youth Network – [email protected], 07708 022320.
At GMYN we believe all young people deserve access to positive experiences and to feel connected to their community. Find out more about how GMYN supports disabled and neurodivergent young people here.
