Make a vital difference to lives of young people in Greater Manchester with GMYN Copy

The pandemic and cost of living crisis have compounded the challenges facing young people in Greater Manchester.

25% more young people in the city region are likely to leave school without a job or training than the national average, and 50% more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are not in education, employment, or training than their peers from more affluent backgrounds.*

GMYN is launching an ambitious campaign aimed at getting 200 people into training and employment by July 2024.
By working with local business partners, we will open pathways to training and employment and make a huge difference to young peoples lives.

But we need your help!

By supporting our campaign, businesses, individuals, and leaders can help young people in Greater Manchester become work-ready. And, it will also help your business in many ways. Working with GMYN will:

• Create opportunities to broaden your recruitment approach.

• Diversify your talent base.

• Help you to achieve your social value objectives.

• Help you boost your corporate social responsibility ambitions.

How you or your business can help

Whether you’re a seasoned business owner or just starting out, there are many easy ways you can help our young people. These include:

  • Offer work placements or world of work visits
  • Provide work experience opportunities.
  • Make a pledge to support a young person’s journey through training and employment
  • Donations that enable GMYN to directly support young people furthest away from the job market.

“At Capco we pride ourselves on giving back to the communities in which we live and work, so we are extremely pleased to have had this opportunity to support GMYN and the young people of Greater Manchester.”

Richard Emmett, Managing Principal at Capco, a company supporting GMYN

By supporting young people, you can transform lives.

You’ll also support GMYN –a local charity that critically needs your help. As a business, you’ll achieve social value objectives, create opportunities to broaden your recruitment approach and diversify your talent base. As well as increase your brand across the city region, and give your staff pride that they’re supporting the city they live and work in.

“I want to help, where do I go next?”

Sponsor one of our services

We welcome interest from companies or individuals interested in supporting specific projects or events we run for our young people.

Take part in a challenge or event

Find an event you can take part in to raise money for GMYN. Previously, companies have run 10k’s, sponsored walks/cycles, pub quizzes – whatever you’d like to participate in. We have banners and hoodies you can use to highlight the fantastic ways you are supporting the young people at GMYN.
